Expressive Trauma Integration is an integrated therapeutic approach based on over a decade of work and research with traumatized populations in the Middle East, United States, Africa, and Asia by Dr. Odelya Gertel Kraybill, a trauma therapist and consultant.

The ETI approach draws on recent research and practice from the fields of traumatology, neurobiology, expressive therapy, cognitive and behavioral approaches, resiliency and post-traumatic growth. ETI aims to facilitate resiliency and post traumatic growth with tools for use in therapy, training and supervision of human service practitioners and trauma survivors.

On The Hero's Journey

J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of The Hobbit  is a trauma survivor.
Tolkien used his fiction writing to work through his World War I  war experience.

The concept of the Hero's Journey, first coined by Joseph Campbell, much later in history,
Constructed the tales Tolkien  shared, while working out his own trauma from war.

The mythological journey depicted in Tolkien's works
Are symbolic tales of Tolkien's own inner process of Post Traumatic Growth.
